Upper Lakes puts focus on local products at fall show
With the tagline “Make Every Great Bite Count,” Upper Lakes Foods welcomed 150 vendors and thousands of customers to its fall food show October 28 to sample and learn about their ever-expanding product lines.
L&C Meat was ready with show specials on items such as apple-smoked, bacon-wrapped pork ribeye and sirloin steak filets, while Lori Erckenbrack shared samples of her hushpuppies and wild rice products from McGregor-based Minnestalgia Foods. A main ULF display also showcased their seafood offerings, and the Natural Marketplace was again a popular place to check out specialty products and menu ideas. Education seminars covered a range of topics, including maintaining profitability in the face of rising food costs, and reducing the risk of foodborne illnesses.
