ULF’s Natural Marketplace is Open for Business
Upper Lakes Foods, Inc. announced the official launch of their Natural Marketplace at the 2013 Fall Food Show at the DECC on Tuesday, Nov. 5.As a family owned and operated, local food distributor, Upper Lakes Foods (ULF) has made a commitment to the health and sustainability of the environment, economy and community. As an extension of the Planet to Plate initiative launched in late 2012, ULF is now launching Natural Marketplace to expand natural, organic and specialty product offerings. Natural Marketplace will offer over 30,000 bulk and grab ‘n go natural, organic and specialty products. The goal of the program is to provide a single distribution source for foodservice operators who are looking for these types of items. The program also offers a wide variety of gluten and allergen free, kosher and ethnic items which can often be difficult for foodservice operators to source. “We are very excited to launch Natural Marketplace as an extension to our line. We’ve been focused on providing more local and natural product options for the past few years.” said Erin Bradshaw, ULF marketing director. “We’ve also formed partnerships with Locally Laid Eggs from Wrenshall, Thousand Hills Beef from Cannon Falls, Minn., Ferndale Farms Turkey from Cannon Falls and Prairie Kitchen from Superior, Wis. At ULF we believe our success is dependent upon a healthy community and truly believe in partnering with local businesses whenever possible.”
